What we collect when you simply visit
We log every page view and every click on this site. That happens whether or not you submit anything, and it includes:

Two cookies, gcs_vid and gcs_sid | Recognising the same browser across pages and within a visit. They hold random identifiers and nothing else. |
What we collect when you submit a review
Everything you type into the form: your name if you give it, your email address, the amount you say you paid, the purchase date, how you found getcracked.io, your rating, your summary, your account, and your note about documentation. We store your consent choices alongside it.
We also attach the same request details listed above — including your IP address — to your submission, so that a submission can be tied to the visit it came from.
What we do with it
- Read and check submissions, and prepare the report.
- Contact you about your submission, but only if you ticked the box allowing it.
- Detect duplicate, automated, and coordinated submissions.
- Understand how people find and use this site.
We do not sell this data. We do not share it with getcracked.io or its owners. We do not use your email to send you marketing unrelated to this collection, and we do not add you to any other mailing list.
What gets published
Your name, email address, and IP address are never published. If you ticked the consent box, your account may be quoted in the report; if you did not, it will not be quoted, though it will still be counted in the totals. Quotes are attributed no more specifically than a first name and a purchase month, unless you ask us in writing to attribute you fully.
How long we keep it
Submissions are kept until the report is published and for two years afterwards, so that we can answer questions about the findings. Click and page-view logs are kept for 12 months. After those periods the records are deleted.
Your choices
- See what we hold about you. Ask, and we will send it.
- Have it deleted. Ask, and we will delete your submission and the logs we can tie to you. If the report has already been published, we can remove a quote but cannot un-count a submission that has been aggregated into the totals.
- Withdraw consent to be quoted. Ask at any time before publication.
- Correct something. Submitting again from the same email address replaces your previous submission.

Where it is stored
Submissions and logs are held in our database with a hosting provider in the United States. If you are writing from outside the United States, your information is transferred there.
